BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Here is a Valentine love story that has lasted seven decades.

The Rev. Johnny Howze and his wife Claretta celebrated their 70th anniversary Feb. 13. Howze turns 90 next month and his wife turns 89 in June.

The couple's son says his father prayed for a wife and God answered his prayers for 70 years. The couple has seven children, 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Howze worked at Stockham Valves and Fittings for 35 years and his was the pastor at the First Missionary Baptist Church of East Thomas in Birmingham for 33 years.
