A fugitive who escaped from a Georgia prison is believed to be in East Texas while a second suspect has been apprehended.

The U.S. Marshals are looking for Chad Everette Dasher.Raymond Thomas Smith is the second suspect who escaped the Georgia prison and was apprehended by members of the US Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force. The duo escaped from the Tattnall County Jail on January 24th. They executed an elaborate plan to breach jail security and escaped through the jail's roof.

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt said there was a tip the two were staying in Henderson County. Nutt said a pick up truck was stolen in Anderson County, but found abandoned on FM 607 South, which is near Brownsboro. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office, along with the U.S. Marshals and DPS began searching the area Friday afternoon. A resident in the area that officials are searching says that she saw a man walking around in a pasture with a camo jacket and a rifle. She did not want to be identified.

Smith is being held in the Navarro County jail on charges of escape and interference with government property. He is being held without bond. The Tattnall County Sheriff's Office is in cooperation with law enforcement in Corsicana to extradite Smith back to Georgia.

Dasher was being held on multiple charges for a multi-county crime spree that occurred in Georgia in 2012. Dasher is a white male, 5'9" tall and 140 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair. Dasher has an extensive criminal history, including arrests for burglary, firearms, fraud, narcotics, resisting arresting and traffic offenses. He has a history of fleeing from law enforcement. Sheriff Nutt said Dasher is on foot. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and blue jeans. Dasher is considered armed and dangerous.

Smith was being held on multiple counts of aggravated child molestation. In addition to Smith's arrest for sex offenses, he has prior arrests for assault, firearms, and obstruction.
