KIHEI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Visitors to the islands dining at a family-owned restaurant in Kihei stunned their server with an extremely generous gratuity.

Terry Thrasher, whose family owns Maui Brick Oven, sent us this photograph of the receipt, which shows a $1,000 dollar tip on a nearly $62 dollar check, along with the words "Not a typo!"

Thrasher says he and his wife struck up a conversation with the pair of visitors, who also signed their check with two bible verses. Thrasher called the experience "amazing."
