MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Drivers traveling through Montgomery will being seeing something new on the interstate soon; new dynamic message signs are going up along I-65.

These signs are similar to what are in place in Birmingham and Atlanta. They're digital signs designed to keep you updated on road conditions, travel times and Amber Alerts.

Two of the signs were just installed along I-65, one near the 169 mile marker and the other at the 174 mile marker.

There are other signs drivers may have already noticed as they come into Montgomery: south of Montgomery near the Lowndes County line and near the Hyundai Boulevard exit and north of Montgomery near Pine Level and near Alabama 14.

This work is part of the $2.1 million ALDOT construction project to install dynamic message signs on the I-65 corridor within the Montgomery regional area.

The estimated completion date of the project is April 30.
