Votto pitted against Félix Hernández in next round of #FaceofMLB challenge

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Is Joey Votto the face of Major League Baseball? After narrowly escaping defeat in the second round, Joey Votto has advanced to the third round of MLB Network's #FaceofMLB contest.

Votto has been pitted against Félix Hernández, a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners.

Votto defeated Arizona Diamondbacks first basement Paul Goldschmidt 50.3 percent to 49.7 percent in the second round of the competition. He received a first round bye.

Voting opens at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning and ends at 8 a.m. Thursday. 

A win this round would push Votto through to the finals.
