ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) -

The Enterprise Police Department is investigating a kidnapping after a woman called Tuesday morning and reported that she'd escaped her abductor.

Officer responded to the 900 block of Rucker Blvd. where they met with the woman who said she'd been taken from her home and forced to drive to an undisclosed location in Enterprise.

The victim said she was able to flee from the suspect and call for help. She was later treated for injuries at Medical Center Enterprise and released.

Detectives locate the suspect within six hours of the abduction and arrested him. The suspect is identified as John Buchanan, 28, of Enterprise.

He's now charged with Kidnapping 2nd, Assault 2nd, and Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle.

Buchanan is being held at the Coffee County Jail. 

The case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Enterprise Police Department.
