STURBRIDGE, MA (WSHM) -

A state trooper conducted a traffic stop for vehicle violations on Interstate 84 in Sturbridge at about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, but when he approached the car the driver grabbed for a bag in the passenger seat and attempted to drive away.

After another trooper arrived on scene, the officers were able to arrest the man, police said.

Troopers discovered three packages of cocaine wrapped in cellophane inside of the vehicle. Each package weighed approximately two pounds, according to state police officials.

Police charged Soumana Mounkaila, 46, of Bronx, New York, with trafficking cocaine, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and attaching license plates, according to an arrest report.
