HOUSTON CO., AL (WSFA) -

The Houston County Emergency Management Agency says straight line winds ripped through the town of Gordon around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

There are reports of severe damage to homes and cars but no injuries.

Alabama Power is working to restore service and fix downed power lines.

There are downed trees blocking roadways, including a large tree blocking Jowers Road.

While the EMA says Gordon suffered the brunt of the damage, other damage is being reported in areas such as the 5000 block of Hodgesville Road including downed trees.

WSFA 12 News reporter Kim Smith will have reports on the damage coming up on First at Four.
