STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Bulloch County School leaders are hosting an open, informational session for parents interested in learning more about preparing children for higher education.

The event, "Speak Up For Education," is set to take place in the Statesboro High School Auditorium at 10 Lester Road from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event focuses on three ideas about how the community can help ensure all Bulloch county children are ready for kindergarten, prepared for college and post-graduate careers, and ensure Common Core will help children achieve their goals.

The session will help educators gather ideas that relate to the College & Career Readiness portion of the Bulloch County Schools Strategic Plan.

A brief report on the plan will be shared at the event.
