LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A civil hearing has been set in the case of a Limestone County administrator's theft case. The hearing deals with the school system's efforts to cancel the contract of Limestone Career Tech Principal Mickey Glass.

Recently filed court documents show what is expected to happen in court Thursday morning during an evidentiary hearing. Glass is appealing a recommendation to cancel his contract. The school board made that recommendation a little over two weeks ago.

Glass remains on paid administrative leave heading into Thursday's case, where the judge will look at the school system's evidence in their request for an expedited, non-jury hearing.

The former director of the Limestone County Career Technical Center was arrested last fall after an investigation into theft of property. Court documents show the theft involved tractors, a lawnmower, and a pool pump.

Some items were found at Glass' home and others were believed to be put up for sale online.

Glass, a tenured educator, is protected by the Teacher Accountability Act, and will be paid until a final decision is made. Thursday's hearing will go a long way toward the school system's efforts to cancel his contract.

A court date for Glass' criminal case for the charges of theft and possession of a forged instrument has not been set.
