DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) -

The Dothan Fire Department was called to an apartment blaze Tuesday afternoon on Westgate Parkway.

DFD spokesman Chris Etheredge says fire crews brought the fire under control, but not before it caused heavy damage.

Etheredge says the fire happened at the Westgate Village Apartments, specifically in Building P which contains four rented units.

Etheredge wasn't immediately sure if anyone was in the homes when the fire started, but says all apartments were rented to tenants.

There were no reports of any injuries to fire officials or civilians.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known. Investigators have not yet been able to get inside the units.
