HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -

All southbound lanes of I-459 have reopened to traffic after being blocked due to a wreck at Exit 10, according to Hoover Police.

An 18-wheeler and a "box truck," appearing to be a Metro Truck Rental vehicle, crashed on I-459 at the Hoover-Bessemer exit for Highway 150. Police shut down the southbound lanes for around 40 minutes, causing traffic to back up.

There is no word yet on the extent of injuries but Hoover Police say that one person was taken to UAB for treatment. Hoover Police responded to the scene and tweeted that it was clear a little after 2 p.m.
