BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A Birmingham mother accused of firing a gun on a school campus appeared in court Wednesday.

In May 2013, Cassandra Abrams was charged with reckless endangerment and certain person forbidden to possess firearms.

The charges stem from an incident caught on a cell phone where Abrams is seen grabbing a gun from her car, pointing it at a group of people and then firing it into the ground.

According to parents, the situation stemmed from a fight involving Abram's daughter and two other students. We asked Abrams' attorney about the delay in the court appearance.

"There are court proceedings that have to occur especially in a serious case like this and that's what we're dong. Some cases go faster than other and this one is going a little bit slower than some," Eric Guster said.

Abrams' court proceedings were pushed back again until March 25. However, Judge Shanta Owens says this will be the last time the case is postponed.
