Today the finals for the Final 48 start at 9 a.m. Several local teams are in the running to take the championship title. You can catch all the action through our Live stream. Also be sure to check out the video page for the AHSAA.

Montgomery's Downtown Business Association will host a FREE Mardi Gras Block Party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Commerce Street Saturday. The events will all take place on Commerce Street in the Downtown Entertainment District. There will be performances from a New Orleans trombonist Glen David Andrews.

A section of lower Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery will be closed today. Dexter Avenue between the fountain and Perry Street will be closed starting at 7:30 Friday morning and will remain closed throughout the day. Crews will be removing canopies in front of the old Belk building in that area. Montgomery police officers will be directing traffic and taking the canopies to the landfill.

After a week that included wet and colder weather, we are looking at a fantastic weekend. Temperatures for this weekend are looking to be in the upper 60's to lower 70's. Rain returns the forecast Monday, followed by cooler weather Tuesday through Thursday.
