COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Candace Forbes, 38, was arrested yesterday, Feb. 28, for allegedly embezzling approximately $80,000 from a hotel chain where she has been employed as Assistant General Manager.

According to her arrest warrant, Columbus Police were made aware of Forbes' illegal conduct back in January. Authorities were called to the SpringHill Suites on Whittlesy Blvd. in reference to forgery, where more than $350 had been taken at the time.

The hotel is owned by Apple Reit Company of Virgina.

Forbes is now being held on a $155,000 bond at the Muscogee County Jail.
