BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Martavious Gray scored 20 points and Cobe Goosby had 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead Elba to a 66-61 come-from-behind victory over Luverne Friday in the Class 2A boys state championship game.

Elba (26-2) went on a late 9-0 run to capture its first state title after trailing by 12 in the first half.

Preston Sankey's jump shot gave Luverne (25-3) a 56-54 lead with 3:19 left. Gray hit a 3-pointer with 1:15 left for a 62-58 lead and Goosby, the tournament MVP, made 4 of 7 free throws over the final 32 seconds and grabbed the rebound on one of his misses.

Denzell Thomas added 12 points for Elba.

Quindarius Thagard led Luverne with 20 points and eight rebounds, hitting 9 of 14 shots. Sankey scored 17.

Goosby, Gray, Sankey, Luverne's Donta Hall and Elba's Nicholas Green were joined on the all-tournament team by Tanner's Johnathan Fletcher.
