Teens accused of throwing brick from Tuscaloosa overpass plead guilty

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Two teenagers accused of throwing a brick from a highway overpass in 2012 have pleaded guilty.

Both teens were granted youthful offender staus in the case. Authorities say the teens dropped the five-pound brick off the Keene's Mill Road overpass of I-20/59 and hit Melissa Jones' vehicle as she drove by.

The brick went through the vehice's windshield, seriously injuring Jones. Jones' oldest son was with her and grabbed the steering wheel to guide the family's minivan to the side of the interstate until help arrived.
