LOWNDES CO., AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers are investigating after a single-vehicle crash left a Burkville man dead.

54-year-old Arthur Middleton was killed when the 1992 Chevrolet van he was driving, left the roadway and struck a creek bed. The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Lowdnes County 33, 15 miles south of Hayneville.

Troopers say seat belts were not in use at the time of the crash.

No other information is being released at this time as the investigation continues.
