KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A disturbing crime started online and ended with a Texas man flying to Kansas City to try to have sex with an 11- and 15-year-old girl, investigators say.

The 41-year-old man in question admitted to authorities that he flew more than 700 miles to sleep with underage girls.

But what John Christian didn't know was that he was the subject of an online sting conducted by Kansas City police.

Christian made contact with a detective posing as a father offering up his 11- and 15-year-old daughters for sex. Christian and the detective met through a pornographic website where the detective set up a fake online profile.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Christian described in detail through text messages what exactly he planned to do the girls.

He even planned to bring the girls gifts, a Hello Kitty necklace for the 11-year-old and an iPod for the 15-year-old.

Police say Christian planned to pay the father of the girls $400 to have sex with them.

Police arrested Christian and during his interview. Authorities say he admitted to coming to Kansas City for illegal sex.

He has now been charged with two counts of attempting to commit statutory rape. His bond has been set at $75,000.
