WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Arizona softball senior catcher/designated player Kelsey Rodriguez was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 24-March 2, the conference announced Tuesday.

Rodriguez hit five doubles over the span of three games, helping Arizona to a perfect 5-0 on the week. UA run-ruled all five opponents and has now run-ruled six straight foes to tie a school record. During the week, which was cut short due to Saturday's rainout of the Wildcat Invitational, Rodriguez hit .667 (6-for-9) to lead the team.

The senior hit five doubles in the final three games of the weekend in just six at-bats; she entered the tournament with three total doubles on the season. Rodriguez drove in two runs and scored five more in the five games. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native also drew five walks to post a .786 on-base percentage for the week. Her five doubles helped her to a 1.222 slugging percentage.

For the year, Rodriguez leads the team with a .487 average. She has one homer and 11 RBI on the season.

It is Rodriguez's first career citation and Arizona's first of the year. The recognition marks the 138th all-time for Arizona, the most in the conference.

The Wildcats return to action this afternoon when they welcome Ball State for a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. MST.
