A Dothan woman has been found dead and her ex-husband has been charged with capital murder in the case.

Police say Charles Toney killed his ex-wife Rebecca Jackson and dumped her body in a field.

Dothan police responded to a domestic violence complaint on South Alice Street Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. When officers arrived, they say they learned that Rebecca Jackson, 39, had been kidnapped by her husband, Willie Charles Toney, 45, and driven away in her vehicle.

Officers apprehended Toney at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday near Highway 40 in Geneva County, south of Chancellor, after spotting Jackson's vehicle. A short time later, officers discovered Jackson's body in a field approximately a mile from where Toney was arrested.

Court documents show a judge certified the couple's divorce Feb. 26. Those documents show that Jackson feared for her life.

She claimed that her ex-husband threatened to kill her, their two children and her entire family.

Investigators plan tot release more details in a news conference Friday morning.
