KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating after three businesses were broken into early Thursday morning.

It happened about 3 a.m. on East 39th and Main streets. A beauty shop and two other businesses got hit.

The beauty shop owner said she rushed to her business when her alarm company notified her, but she said police wouldn't come right away.

"Well, I didn't know that you had to have a permit. They were very upset that they couldn't respond unless I verbally called. I didn't know," said Cassie Johnson, Owner of Artistic Xpression by E'lon.

The thieves were able to get away with some cash and other items. There is no word on the exact losses at this time.
