SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

A man on the run from Selma police for five years has been captured in California.

According to the Selma Police Department, Franklin Fitzgerald Deville, 49, was wanted on one counts of first degree sexual abuse.

An adult female family member accused Deville of unwanted sexual contact in 2009. Deville reportedly refused to meet with detectives about the allegations and fled the state.

The U.S. Marshals Service contacted Selma police at 7 p.m. Wednesday and said Deville had been taken into custody.

Deville is being held in the Los Angeles Detention Center and will be extradited to Selma.
