FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Police are investigating a shooting that happened in north Florence, Tuesday afternoon, that left one woman injured.

Officers responded to a home on Winona Street, around 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the victim and her boyfriend were inside the home when the gun was fired. Police arrested the boyfriend, Berry Glen Springer, after questioning him. Officials said the couple got into an argument when a gun was produced. They fought over the gun and it fired, hitting the woman in the lower abdomen.

According to police, a 41-year-old woman was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital. The woman's condition is currently unknown.

Authorities said they are also getting a search warrant for the home. Springer is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on charges of second-degree domestic violence assault.
