MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Workers inside Montgomery's tallest building were evacuated from the complex Tuesday afternoon due to a fire alarm.

The Montgomery Fire Department responded to the RSA Tower to investigate the alarm and tells WSFA 12 News it appears to be a false alarm. Someone apparently pulled a fire alarm after smelling what they believed to be smoke.

16 tenants use the RSA Tower, a 23 story office building, including large companies such as Raycom Media, this station's parent company.

There are also several state agencies among the building's occupants.

The Retirement Systems of Alabama, which owns the building, is the primary lender to Raycom Media.

WSFA 12 News will have more information as it becomes available.
