BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The friend of a Taco Bell manager who was beaten, robbed and killed by two of her own employees is speaking out.

Beck van Gilder says her friend Vettia Roche was a fighter and didn't deserve to die as she did. Renauldous Jamal Chisholm and Kenneth Duane Temple, both of Montgomery, were arrested Monday afternoon and charged in Roche's death.

Van Gilder says that Roche ended up in Montgomery after losing nearly everything in a tornado. After a lot of searching, van Gilder says Roche landed the job at Taco Bell. She was excited to have a job to support her family.
