NEW ORLEANS, LA (WSFA) -

Two members of the Troy University women's basketball team have earned All-Sun Belt Honors.

Troy's Joanna Harden was selected to the women's All-Sun Belt first team, and teammate Ashley Beverly-Kelley was selected to the second team as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Harden, a native of Pompano Beach, FL., led the Sun Belt in scoring this season with 25.7 points per game. Entering the Sun Belt Championship, she is the sixth best scorer in the NCAA, and is currently on a streak of 15 straight games with at least 20 points. Harden's 25.7 points per game is the best in school history, and Harden will be the sixth player in the Sun Belt's 32-year history to average more than 25 points a game. She is the third Troy player to earn first team All-Sun Belt honors, and the first since Kylie Morrissy in 2008-09.

Beverly-Kelley, a native of Adamsville, AL., ranks seventh in the Sun Belt in scoring at 13.4 points per game. She is fourth in the league in assist with 3.6 per game and also ranks in the top ten in steals. The sophomore has scored in double figures in 19 games this season, including 20-plus seven times. She is the first Troy underclassman to earn All-Sun Belt honors since Morrissy did so as a sophomore in 2006-07.

This is the first time that Troy has had two all-conference selections since the 2002-03 season when Thea Herring and Chaquita Alexander were All-Alantic Sun selections.

The Trojans open the Sun Belt Championship on Wednesday when they take on UALR in the quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m.
