ABC agents destroy illegal Bullock Co. moonshine operation

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Authorities with the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board, or ABC, say they have found and destroyed an illegal, 15 barrel working moonshine operation in Bullock County.

Officials say the agents located the still on March 7 in an area between Union Springs and Eufaula, near the Midway Community.

The still contained 25 gallons of moonshine packaged for transport in a variety of plastic containers including those used to hold gasoline, cooking oil and other liquids.

No arrests have been made in connection with the still's discoveryl, but agents say they are aware of several individuals known to cook moonshine in the area.

Officials are also making efforts to locate the property manager.

No other details have been released.
