Madison County Sheriff's Office advised drivers to avoid a portion of Charity Lane due to a fire.

Deputies told drivers to avoid the area of Charity Lane between Country Crest and Brooks Church due to a large brush fire. The alert went out shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday. The road opened back up around 2 p.m.

The report came in around 12:30 p.m. Bobo and Toney Fire and Rescue responded to put out the fire.

Multiple homes were threatened, but no structures were damaged. Approximately 15 acres were burned, and over 5-thousand gallons of water was used. Reports said the fire appeared to have started at a residence on Jones Lane.

No injuries were reported.
