The Sun Belt league office hasannounced that a Troy baseball player has been named Sun Belt ConferencePitcher of the Week.

Senior pitcher Tanner Hicks won thehonor after throwing a complete game shutout against South Alabama on Friday.Hicks allowed six hits, all of them being singles, and struck out five batters.It is Hicks' third complete game in his career and he has pitched at leastseven innings in all five starts this season.

Hicks is now 2-2 on the season with a2.13 ERA. In four of his five starts this season, Hicks has thrown six or moreinnings and allowed three runs or fewer. He has struck out 37 batters in 38innings so far this year.

Hicks ranked third in the Sun Belt lastseason with eight victories, and ranked fifth with 94 strikeouts. He was namedPitcher of the Week in 2013 after a four-hit complete game against UALR.
