PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

The Prattville Police Department believes that two recent crimes at local businesses were committed by the same person.

Police say that on Feb. 20, an unknown male subject entered the Subway restaurant at 258 Interstate Commercial Loop. The subject was caught on video surveillance entering the front door wearing a blue bandanna around his face and dressed in a black hooded sweat shirt.

After entering the store the subject demanded that the clerk open the safe. When the clerk advised the subject that she was unable to, he jumped across the counter and demanded the money from the register. Upon receiving the money in the register, he dropped a handgun out of his pocket onto the floor. The subject then picked the handgun up and demanded the clerk to follow him outside. Once outside the suspect ran off and the clerk returned inside to call the police.

On March 10, an unknown male subject entered the Dollar General at 601 McQueen Smith Road, where he was captured on video demanding money from the registers while holding a handgun. Upon receiving the money from the registers, the subject ordered the two employees to walk outside with him. Once outside, he demanded that they bend over, while he left in the opposite direction. He was last seen going behind two businesses wearing all black with a white cloth over his face.

If you can identify or know the whereabouts of this subject, please call the Prattville Police immediately or Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP.
