MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The section of Interstate 85 between mile markers 14 and 16 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, weather permitting. The reduction to one lane will go into effect between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday as work continues on the Outer Loop project.

State Troopers will be assisting with traffic control during the lane closures. Motorist should anticipate these types of closures throughout the remainder of the year and are requested to consider finding an alternate route, adjust arrival and departure times, observe reduced speed limits, and use extreme caution.

An additional project, expected to begin at the conclusion of the Outer Loop project and take up to 24 months, will pave the roadway between I-85 and Vaughn Road before the route is opened to traffic.
