Plane with ties to Alabama crashes in Colorado

OURAY COUNTY, COLORADO (WBRC) - Denver Fox affiliate KDVR is reporting a plane registered to an Alabama corporation crashed Saturday afternoon in Ouray County Colorado. 

Ian Gregor from the Federal Aviation Adminstration  said  around 1:50 p.m. a single engine Socata TBM700 crashed into Ridgway Resevoir about 30 miles South of Montrose. 

The aircraft had taken off from Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was on its way to Montrose Colorado.  Gregor said a deputy on the scene yesterday located debris, but no passengers. 

Ouray County Sheriff spokesperson Martha P. Whitmore said five passengers were believed to be on board. We will have more on this story as information becomes available.
