JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Traffic will be detoured on Highway 35 in Jackson County due to an inspection of the B.B. Comer Bridge.

Southbound traffic on Highway 35 near mile marker 46.17 will be routed into the northbound lanes on Bob Jones Bridge. The detour began Monday at 10 a.m. and will be in place through Friday.

State transportation officials urge drivers to consider using different routes and to adjust travel time. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution when traveling through the area.
