Man accused of burglarizing Dale County church

DALE CO., AL, (WSFA) -

Dale County Sheriffs office says a Skipperville man is under arrest and charged with the burglary of a church.

Andrew Payne Hartzog, 23, was arrested and charged with burglary third and theft of property third after investigators say they received a call about a suspicious suspect in the area of County Road 64 in Skipperville.

A resident says they observed a white male walking down the road pulling a garbage can. After the resident made contact with the man, and after a brief conversation, the man fled into the woods.

After further investigation it was discovered that Morgan Baptist had been burglarized. Items including food, cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous items were taken.

Hartzog was released on $3,000 bond.

    Montgomery has been chosen as a host of the 2018 High School Triathlon State Championships by USA Triathlon.
