CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Bengals signed defensive tackle Domata Peko to a two-year extension on his contract.

The deal previously was set to expire after the 2014 season but will now run through 2016. Team officials made the announcement Thursday.

Peko (6-3, 322; Michigan State) was the Bengals' fourth-round draft pick in 2006 and is a ninth-year player in 2014.

Last season he played and started all of the Bengals' games at nose tackle and recorded a career-high three sacks. He also saw snaps on offense as the lead blocker out of the backfield on short-yardage plays.

He's started the last 67 games of regular season and postseason, which is the longest streak on the current roster for Bengals starts and NFL starts.
