Rain moves in for Friday as a cold front approaches the western Carolinas.
Expect off and on showers through the day with highs getting up to the 60s for most spots. Showers will diminish Friday night and patchy fog and clouds will move in overnight.
By Saturday the front will start to pass through, bringing heavier rain and the chance for a few midday thunderstorms as temperatures warm into the 60s and low 70s.
Some of the storms could be strong, with damaging wind or hail. Skies should clear by late Saturday for most areas.
Once the front moves through late Saturday, the lingering moisture along the Tennessee border could make a quick changeover to snow showers before everything clears out early Sunday morning.
Sunday will bring much improved weather. Highs will get into the 60s area-wide with abundant sunshine. We'll keep the sunny weather into next week as well.
