LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The 2014 Festival Fanatic winner has been announced by the Kentucky Derby Festival.

Melanie Chilton, of Louisville, Kentucky, was chosen out of more than 41,000 people who entered the promotion sponsored by the Kentucky Lottery.

As the Festival Fanatic Chilton will have the opportunity to attend 25 individual Festival experiences where she will receive VIP treatment.

"When I got the call telling me I was the Festival Fanatic, I thought it was a joke! I was sure my kids were pulling a prank on me," said Chilton. "I am so excited to have the opportunity to be the Festival Fanatic. I'm overwhelmed because it's the chance of a lifetime."

Chilton, a part owner of Family Sports Grill and Pub, will also serve as the Thundernator during Thunder Over Louisville on April 12.
