NEW ORLEANS, AL (WVUE) - The New Orleans Pelicans beleaguered roster took anotherpainful hit Friday night when Anthony Davis exited the game versus the UtahJazz after playing just under four minutes.
Davis' left ankle was too painful for him to continuingplaying.
New Orleans' medical staff ruled Davis out after initialtests inside the team locker room.
Right now, General Manager Dell Demps says there wasn't aspecific injury to Davis. Instead, Demps says the star forward's leftankle "was sore" during warm-ups and became worse during the game asDavis tried to play through.
Davis' injury could quite possibly be a result of thegrind of the season: The 21-year-old's body certainly has taken a beating, given that he usually plays the most minutes on the team.
The Pelicans won't know Davis' status going forward untilfurther tests are completed.
