MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The month of April has been designated as clean up month forMontgomery's District Two.

District Two is in the northern part of the city ofMontgomery and includes areas to the north of Wares Ferry Road, east of LowerWetumpka Road and encompasses Lagoon Park, Congressman Dickinson Drive and the Maxwell-GunterAir Force Base annex.  

Residents and businesses in District Two can take advantageof special garbage and trash removal service during this time only. Thesanitation department will remove all items, with no extra charge, that areplaced behind the curb. The only materials that will not be removed are loose leaves,dirt, building materials and tree branches that exceed four feet in length oreight inches in diameter.

The members of the Montgomery Clean City Commission, alongwith the Sanitation Department, have made "Cut down, trim back, cleanup andthrow away" the slogan for the April clean up campaign.

The Montgomery Clean City Commission will be supplying trashbags to groups who organize cleanups during the 2014 Great American Cleanup.
