State troopers said a man was killed in a wreck late Sunday night in Cullman County.

Troopers reported that the crash happened at 10:45 p.m. on County Road 35, five miles south of Colony. Authorities said Don Alan Phillips, 60, of Bremen was killed when his 1988 Buick left the road and hit a tree.

Authorities said Phillips was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was ejected. Troopers said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
