UNION SPRINGS, AL (WSFA) -

The Union Springs Police Department will only confirm that it's investigating an attempted robbery, but the victim's son says his father was shot numerous times.

The police department says the incident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday, but would not release any additional details.

The victim's son says a man approached his father as he was closing up his store in the Sardis Mobile Home Park Thursday evening. That's when he says his father was shot multiple times.

The victim's son says his father was airlifted to Montgomery and is currently in stable condition.
