MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
A new Domino's location opened Tuesday in Montgomery and owners say it's the first of its kind in the state.
Franchise owner Andy Villarreal says the "Pizza Theater" is a new concept for Domino's. He says there are about 30 Pizza Theaters across the country, and the Montgomery location is one of the largest.
It's called a theater because customers can watch the whole pizza-making process. Customers can see dough being stretched, pizzas being topped and the pies going into the oven.
There is also seating for 50 people, a room for meetings and parties, TVs and Wi-Fi.
Villarreal and co-owner Chip Burr completely gutted and remodeled the former No Way Jose restaurant building across from Faulkner University on Atlanta Highway.
The nearby Domino's on Atlanta Highway closed Monday night and the new location at 5338 Atlanta Highway opened Tuesday.
The owners say they plan to update all of the Montgomery Domino's locations.
