MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Marshall County park could soon be restored to look better than it was before it was damaged by the 2011 tornadoes.

The Marshall County Commission is expected to address bidding out work next week to complete a fishing pier and picnic pavilions at county park number one.

The 2011 tornadoes did major damage to the park. Since that time, one pavilion had been completed, but the remainder of the work could begin in a couple of months.

"My job is to fix it up as quick as we can where the citizens of Marshall County will have a nice place to go picnic, fish, and enjoy themselves in that nice area over there," said Marshall County Commission Chairman James Hutcheson.

Chairman Hutcheson said it won't cost the taxpayers because it will be covered by insurance.
