Police investigating the murder of a Birmingham business owner

BIRMINGHAM,AL (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are investigating an apparent homicide in North Birmingham.  According to police, the owner of Ebony Beauty Supply on 27th street north was found dead in the shop Saturday morning.

A concerned citizen called officers around 10:30am. The person had noticed the shop was not open during regular business hours, even though the owner's car was parked outside.  Once the Birmingham Fire Department made entry the owner's body was discovered.

The cause death has not yet been released.  It's also unknown when the victim died, however, police say it does not appear the shop had opened Saturday and that the owner's car was parked outside overnight.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.
