FORT HOOD, TX (KLTV) - For the first time, officials have released a timeline of events and revealed the movements of the shooter in the deadly shooting that occurred at Fort Hood, Texas.

The Fort Hood Press Center released the overhead view of the scene and brief timeline Saturday night.

Three people were killed in the shooting at the nation's largest military post before the gunman Specialist Ivan Lopez turned the gun on himself.

Investigators revealed the first 9-1-1 call was received by Fort Hood Police at 4:16p.m. on April 2. First responders arrived on the scene four minutes later at 4:20p.m.

Buildings identified as being a part of the crime scene by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command include: 1st Medical Brigade Headquarters, 21st Combat Support Hospital Headquarters, 61st Multifunctional Medical Battalion Headquarters, 1st Medical Brigade Annex, 49th Transportation Battalion Headquarters and 180th Transportation Battalion Headquarters.

Lopez was assigned to the 49th Transportation Movement Control Battalion. He was reclassified to that battalion after being moved from Fort Bliss in West Texas.

A family member of one of the soldiers injured in the shooting told Raycom station WLBT-TV, Lopez came in to request leave request paperwork but when he was told to come back the following day, Lopez instead left and returned with a gun.

The military installation was placed on lockdown at 4:43p.m. The lockdown lasted until the post could be secured at 8:40p.m. April 2.
