CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Zoo is revealing its newest addition on Thursday – a baby okapi.

The four-month-old girl is the first live offspring of the zoo's okapis, Kuvua and Kiloro. The baby's name is Kilua, a fusian of her parents' names.

Although they are striped like zebras and have short necks, okapis closest relatives are actually giraffes. Their unique striping helps offspring follow their mother through the forest.

Okapis are classified as a ‘threatened' species, with only 15,000 believed to be in the wild.

This is the Cincinnati Zoo's 15th Okapi birth.
