MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Black Rodeo took place at the Garrett Coliseum on Saturday for the second year in a row.

There was an estimated 7,000 fans who showed up to watch some of the best African American rodeo athletes compete in events such as calf roping, bull riding and much more.

Even the crowd got to participate in the event.

"Well what we do is we interact with the crowd, we have something for the kids and also something for the ladies," said Walter Hull, one of the co-promoters for the rodeo. "They'll get a chance to get out on the floor to chase a calf or chase a steer. We get everybody involved if we can."

The rodeo plans on returning to the Garrett Coliseum again next year.
