Birmingham bar owner arrested for selling alcohol after hours

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A Birmingham nightclub owner was arrested for selling alcohol to patrons over the weekend.

Birmingham Police say undercover agents went into The Onyx club on 8th Avenue West by Legion Field on Sunday, April 13. They say employees of the bar were still serving alcohol after 2 a.m.

Officers arrested the bar's owner, Keith Davis, for selling alcohol after 2 a.m.

Police also seized marijuana and cocaine around the bar and lounge area, but they have not yet filed any drug charges.

The investigation is ongoing, Lt. Sean Edwards with BPD said.

The ABC board is also considering filing administrative charges against Club Onyx.
