SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Police responded to a domestic disturbance early Monday morning to find a victim that had suffered a stab wound to the chest.

The 48-year-old male victim's ex-girlfriend allegedly showed up at his Central Street apartment about 1 a.m. and accused him of cheating on her, according to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

There was a female witness inside of the apartment with the victim when the alleged stabbing occurred, Delaney said.

The verbal argument turned violent when the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Latrisa M. Pace, residing without an address, allegedly stabbed the man, Delaney said.

Pace was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness, and assault by means of a dangerous weapon. She will be arraigned Monday in Springfield District Court, Delaney said.

The victim was in good condition at Baystate Medical Center, Delaney said.

This falls on the heels of an alleged stabbing that occurred in Springfield last week where a female assaulted her boyfriend.
